Wildflower Wendover Day Nursery and Pre-school offers a warm, welcoming environment where children and families quickly feel at ease.
Set on the edge of Wendover with views of open countryside, the nursery combines a strong sense of community with a calm, thoughtfully designed space. Children are supported by a team who take time to build genuine relationships, helping them feel secure, understood, and confident in their surroundings.
This balance of nurture, consistency, and connection creates an environment where children can settle naturally and enjoy their day.
What stands out most at Wendover is the strength of relationships and the sense of shared purpose across the nursery.
Children are supported as individuals, with practitioners taking time to understand their interests, personalities, and development. This creates learning experiences that feel meaningful and engaging.
There is also a strong connection to the outdoors. With two gardens and an on-site allotment, children have regular opportunities to explore, grow, and experience nature in a hands-on way.
Combined with a culture of reflection and continuous improvement, this creates a nursery that feels both grounded and forward-thinking.
Each day follows a steady, reassuring rhythm, designed to support both wellbeing and learning.
Children are welcomed into the nursery and settle into free play, choosing activities that interest them. Throughout the day, they move between indoor and outdoor play, group experiences, and quieter moments, supported by familiar adults.
There is a balance between child-led exploration and thoughtfully planned activities, allowing children to develop confidence while following their own interests.
While routines provide structure, the day remains flexible and responsive, adapting to children's needs, energy levels, and natural curiosity.
At Wildflower Wendover Day Nursery and Pre-school, children's development is supported through meaningful interactions, play-based learning, and environments designed to inspire curiosity.
Practitioners observe, listen, and respond to each child, using their interests to shape experiences that feel engaging and relevant. Learning is guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage, while remaining flexible and centred around the child.
Children are supported to develop independence, confidence, and a love of learning through everyday experiences that feel natural and purposeful.
Strong relationships sit at the heart of the nursery.
Children are supported to understand their emotions, build confidence, and develop positive relationships with others. Practitioners provide calm, consistent guidance and model respectful communication throughout the day.
Through everyday interactions, children learn to share, take turns, and develop empathy, helping them feel secure while building the confidence to explore and connect.
Food is an important part of the nursery day.
Meals and snacks are balanced, nutritious, and designed to support healthy habits from an early age. Mealtimes are calm and social, giving children time to sit together, build independence, and enjoy a positive experience around food.
Children are introduced to a variety of flavours and textures, supporting confidence and curiosity at mealtimes.
Jodie Ahmet
Nursery Manager
Wildflower Wendover Day Nursery and Pre-school is led by Jodie Ahmet, who has developed her career within the nursery and brings a strong sense of care and commitment to her role.
Jodie began her early years journey as an apprentice and progressed through roles including Room Manager and Quality and Development Manager before becoming Nursery Manager in 2025. She joined the nursery in 2023 and has built a deep understanding of the setting, team, and families.
She holds a Level 3 qualification in Early Education and is both a Designated Safeguarding Lead and Mental Health First Aider within the nursery.
As both a manager and a parent, with her own child attending the setting, Jodie brings a valuable dual perspective. She is passionate about supporting families, developing her team, and creating an environment where every child can achieve their full potential.
Starting nursery is an important step, and we take time to support each child through that transition.
