Understanding childcare costs can feel complicated at first.
At Wildflower, we aim to keep things clear and transparent. This page gives an overview of how fees and funding work, along with guidance on the support that may be available to you.
For exact fees, each nursery provides its own fee sheet, which reflects local requirements and availability.
Nursery Fees
Fees vary depending on the nursery, your child's age, and the sessions you require.
Each nursery provides a clear fee structure, which you can view on their individual nursery page. This will include full details of session options and pricing.
If you are unsure which sessions might work best for your family, our nursery teams are always happy to talk this through with you.
Funded Childcare
Many families are eligible for funded childcare, depending on their child's age and circumstances.
In England and Scotland, funded hours are provided by the government and delivered through local authorities.
In most cases, families can access up to 1140 hours of funded childcare per year, often referred to as 15 or 30 hours per week during term time.
At Wildflower, we offer funded places on a stretched basis across the year, allowing families to use their entitlement more flexibly.
Eligibility and how funding is applied can vary, so we recommend checking your individual circumstances.
Funding in England
In England, funded childcare is available from the term after your child becomes eligible, with options depending on age and family circumstances.
If you are eligible, you will receive a code which must be provided to the nursery so funding can be applied to your account.
Eligibility must be reconfirmed regularly to ensure funding continues without interruption.
Funding in Scotland
In Scotland, funded early learning and childcare is available for all children from age 3, with some younger children also eligible depending on circumstances.
Funded hours are delivered in line with local authority guidance and can be accessed on a stretched basis across the year at our nurseries.
Once a funded place has been confirmed, there is no requirement to reconfirm eligibility.
Tax-Free Childcare
Tax-Free Childcare is a government scheme that can be used alongside funded childcare.
For every £8 you pay into your childcare account, the government adds £2, which can be used towards your nursery fees.
This can make a meaningful difference to monthly costs and is available to many working families.
Our Funding Guides
We have created clear, detailed guides to help you understand how funding works in your area.
These explain eligibility, how to apply, and what to expect once your child starts.
Talking It Through
Every family's situation is different.
If you are unsure what support you may be entitled to, or how funding applies to your chosen nursery, our team will talk you through it clearly.
We aim to make the process as straightforward as possible, so you feel confident in your choices.
